Enhancing the Game Day Experience: Union High School Fine Arts Facility
Tulsa, OK
Sights and sounds shape our experiences in powerful ways. It’s impossible to picture a high school football game without the electrifying rhythm of a marching band filling the air. At Union High School in Tulsa, this connection has been amplified with the completion of a state-of-the-art fine arts facility, enhancing both performance and game-day excitement.
From May 2021 to August 2022, Crossland Construction transformed Union High School’s stadium into a premier fine arts hub. This 17,000 SF facility is more than just a structure—it’s a space dedicated to musical excellence, designed with acoustics at its core. The facility features:
-Two expansive rehearsal rooms for full-band practice
-Dedicated directors’ offices, conference rooms, and practice rooms
-Seamless field access—strategically located behind the stadium’s massive video board, giving the band a direct route for game-day performances
Built for Sound, Designed for Excellence
Every detail of the facility was crafted with sound quality in mind. From acoustic wall panels and specialized sound doors to dampening caulk and acoustical glass, every element ensures optimum sound control and clarity. The brick veneer, metal panels, and cast stone exterior combine durability with aesthetics, complementing the stadium’s modern design.
More Than Construction—Building Dreams
Beyond delivering a world-class fine arts space, Crossland made an impact in another way. Through a partnership with Make-A-Wish, a young boy named Ben—who dreams of becoming a construction worker—got to experience life on the job site. His enthusiasm and hard hat spirit made him part of the team, bringing extra heart to this already special project.
Thanks to the combined effort, Union High School welcomed students back with a stunning new facility and an unforgettable first performance—ensuring the sounds of victory and school spirit continue to echo for years to come.
