Crossland Heavy Contractors established its Omaha Division as a focused water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure operation, positioned to serve municipalities across Nebraska. With the City of Lincoln as a primary driver, the division has built its reputation delivering complex infrastructure programs within CMAR frameworks — bringing owners, engineers, and construction teams together from the start.

The Lincoln Collector Wells Project stands as the division’s defining early milestone. In October 2025, the CHC team completed a record-setting horizontal directional drill beneath the Platte River near Lincoln — a 2,080-linear-foot, 54-inch steel pipe crossing believed to be the largest HDD of its kind completed anywhere in the world. The project is one component of a broader CMAR program for the City of Lincoln that also includes expansion of the Ashland Water Treatment Facility, adding a new ozone contact basin and a 60 MGD pre-treatment basin to strengthen the region’s long-term water supply.

Meet Matt, our Omaha Division Manager. Matt built his career at Crossland Heavy Contractors through years of project management on complex water and utility infrastructure, developing the field knowledge and owner relationships that define how the Omaha Division operates today.

His background is rooted in work where precision and coordination are non-negotiable — programs that require the right partners, the right planning, and a commitment to the client’s long-term goals from day one. That approach is central to how Matt leads: build the team early, work through the details together, and deliver a product the owner can depend on for decades.

Under Matt’s leadership, the Omaha Division has taken on some of the most technically demanding utility infrastructure work in the region, including a record-setting horizontal directional drill beneath the Platte River as part of the City of Lincoln’s Collector Wells Program.
