Melissa Public Safety Building
Modern Facility Enhances Fire, Police, and Municipal Services
Melissa, TX
As Melissa, Texas experiences rapid population growth, the city responded by investing in a new, state-of-the-art public safety center. This $19 million, 41,000 SF facility marks a significant upgrade for the community, providing a centralized home for the city’s fire station, fire administration, police headquarters, and municipal court.
The project consists of two distinct buildings: a 13,000 SF fire station and a 30,000 SF public safety building. The exterior features durable brick and ACM panels, while a dedicated canopy provides covered parking for police administration. Inside, the facility is designed with light finishes, modern flooring, and clear signage to distinguish between fire and police operations.
Crossland Construction managed all pre-construction estimates and collaborated closely with the design team to optimize the building footprint, resulting in cost savings on civil scopes. Despite a late addition of the police parking canopy that increased the budget, Crossland was able to return $100,000 in savings to the City of Melissa at project completion.
This project represents Crossland’s first partnership with the City of Melissa, establishing a strong foundation for future collaboration and delivering a much-needed resource to support the city’s growing public safety needs.
