When people think about construction, they often picture boots on the ground and cranes in the air. But before any of that happens, there’s another kind of hustle taking place—one that starts inside the estimating department.
And if you’ve ever wondered how things stay on track behind the scenes, meet Paige.
For nearly a decade, Paige has been the steady hand at the center of Crossland’s Estimating Department. She keeps the process moving, the team organized, and the atmosphere positive—even on high-pressure bid days. With a signature calmness and can-do attitude, Paige brings structure to the fast-moving, ever-changing world of construction estimating.
“It’s fine—I’ve got this,” might as well be her catchphrase. In fact, it’s become so common around the office that a few estimators joked she should get it tattooed across her fingers.
Precision, People, and Bid Day Hustle
Paige’s path to estimating started in the Accounting Department, but after just two months, she was recruited by Chief Estimator Steve Houser.
“I’ve been in estimating ever since,” she laughs.
Paige describes her job as “keeping the estimating department organized,” but her role goes far deeper. According to Steve, “Paige has a hand in almost every job that leaves this office—whether it’s ordering projects, putting together bid forms, dodging curveballs, or building variances when we win a project.”
She thrives in the variety of the work and enjoys seeing projects come full circle—from that initial bid to the final build.
“It’s rewarding to remember how those projects came to be and the small role I helped with. Watching the project come together is a neat thing,” she shares.

The People Who Make It Happen
Like many at Crossland, Paige credits her success to the team around her and the culture they’ve created. It’s a place where support runs deep and people genuinely care.
“Mistakes happen to everyone,” she says. “You can’t dwell on them—you have to learn and move forward.”
Whether she’s triple-checking bid forms, fueling the team with food during long bid days, or simply showing up with kindness and consistency, Paige is one of those people who makes work better for everyone around her.
Outside the Office
When she’s not in the middle of bid prep, Paige enjoys quiet time at home, relaxing with family and friends. Before an ankle injury sidelined her, she was a regular on the pickleball court and hopes to get back to it soon.
A few fun facts:
– She’s a lifelong NASCAR fan
– Loves Chiefs football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball
– And proudly claims Captain America and Batman as her favorite superheroes
She’s also deeply proud of her family, including her younger sister and brother-in-law, who are currently serving as church planters in Japan through the Mustard Seed Network.
Why It Matters
People like Paige are what set Crossland apart. While our crews are out building roads, schools, offices, and public safety facilities, our internal teams are building the support structure that keeps everything moving. Paige is a perfect example of how much heart, care, and behind-the-scenes hustle goes into delivering great work for our clients.
