Aldi #112 New Clinton, MO
New Aldi Prototype Rises: A Structural Steel Marvel
Clinton, MO
When Aldi faced foundation issues at their existing Clinton location, they didn’t just repair – they reimagined. Acquiring property across the street, Crossland delivered one of America’s first V9 prototype stores, blending innovative materials with efficient construction techniques.
The 20,000 SF grocery store features a striking exterior of pre-finished insulated metal wall panels complemented by masonry wainscoting and architectural extruded aluminum plank cladding in select areas. Inside, shoppers enjoy polished concrete floors beneath a painted exposed deck, with warm wood-look laminated particle board lining the walls.
Despite beginning construction weeks behind schedule compared to the only other V9 prototype being built nationwide, Crossland’s team completed the project on time and within budget. The $3.2 million project presented a valuable learning opportunity for Crossland’s steel crew, who mastered the installation of an innovative insulated metal wall and roof panel system – even renting specialized equipment to gang roof panels at ground level before lifting them into place.
Crossland self-performed concrete, steel, pre-engineered metal building installation, and finish carpentry work, while also utilizing Crossland Prefab for additional components. The project represents the continued strong partnership between Crossland, Aldi, and SGA architects, with more collaborations planned for the future.
