Saint Francis Level A MRI Reno
Crafting Care with Exacting Detail
Tulsa, OK
When Saint Fancies Hospital set out to expand its capabilities with a new Level A MRI facility, they faced a daunting challenge. The suite had to be built in the very center of their bustling hospital – a place where precision, timing, and safety could not falter for even a moment. For a project this complex, they entrusted Crossland.
At just under 4,000 SF, the new MRI suite wasn’t the hospital’s largest project, but it was among the most demanding. The timeline was tight – six months start to finish – and every step had to be carefully orchestrated around an active healthcare environment. Patients were being cared for only steps away from the construction zone.
Crossland’s team brought seasoned hands to the task. This was the project manager’s third MRI installation and the superintendent’s seventh – experience that proved invaluable. They chose to self-perform critical portions of the work, including demolition, concrete, and rough carpentry. By keeping these phases in-house, the team could maintain absolute control over quality at the most sensitive moments.
One of the most technically critical details lay beneath the surface: the recessed MRI slab. The tolerance for error was razor-thin. Too shallow, and the slab would require costly grinding to correct; too deep, and the highly specialized equipment wouldn’t sit as intended. Drawing from past lessons, the team set the slab to exactly one-quarter inch below specification, ensuring flawless installation. That decision not only saved the client potential headaches but also created a documented playbook for future MRI projects.
As the project neared completion, subcontractor delays threatened the schedule. But with the hospital’s deadline non-negotiable, Crossland doubled down. Through careful coordination, hands-on problem solving, and relentless attention to detail, the team brought the MRI suite across the finish line—on time, on budget, and without a single increase to the contract amount.
For Saint Fancies Hospital, the result was more than a new facility. It was a promise delivered: a cutting-edge MRI suite ready to serve patients, built with the precision and care that healthcare demands.
