Pryor High School Stadium: Crossland Delivers New Football Stadium in Oklahoma
Pryor, OK
The stadium’s centerpiece is a steel-framed press box that rises three stories above the home side. Engineered for functionality and visibility, it includes carpet tile interiors, drywall finishes, and decorative tilework that match collegiate-level expectations.
Elsewhere on the grounds, multiple support buildings house concessions, locker rooms, and public restrooms. A bold, large-scale tiger mural on the press box exterior adds school spirit in high definition. Site features like extensive retaining walls, sloped entry points, and turf field enhancements were all designed for longevity, accessibility, and safety.
Collaboration on the Clock
Like many large-scale athletic projects, the stadium faced significant scheduling challenges, especially due to heavy rains during earthwork and late-stage site work. Despite weather delays that shaved valuable weeks off the calendar, the team mobilized quickly and found ways to stay ahead of schedule.
Strategic planning was also critical in sequencing steel erection alongside bleacher installation. With multiple trades working simultaneously, elevation alignment was key. Crossland’s field crews and design team solved potential issues before they became delays.
Built by Builders, Not Just Managers
Crossland’s in-house crews self-performed the precast and finish carpentry work, giving the team more control over both schedule and quality. That boots-on-the-ground approach proved critical to keeping things moving, even when Oklahoma weather tried to interfere. This wasn’t just about building a stadium. It was about delivering on every promise. Crossland completed the work within a tight 15-month schedule, ensuring the Tigers’ season kicked off without delay. Just as important, we returned nearly $260,000 in unused contingency and allowance funds to the district, a testament to careful planning, efficient execution, and a commitment to doing what’s right.
A Community Investment That’s Already Paying Off
The impact of the stadium reaches far beyond football. From local pride to future recruiting and community events, the new facility sets a high standard for student-athlete spaces in Oklahoma. It’s already helped pave the way for $60 million in future work with the school district—a testament to the team’s performance before the turf was even finished.
