Nestled in the heart of Lakewood—a suburb just outside of Denver—Morse Park now houses a brand-new 6,500 SF maintenance facility built by Crossland Construction. Designed to boost the city’s service capabilities, the structure features a large shop space and a dedicated office area for administrative tasks. But it’s more than just functional—it’s built to blend with the surrounding environment and community aesthetic.

The facility stands out with its modern design: sleek metal panels, raised seam roofing, brick masonry at the base, and striking wood beams between the front-facing windows. This thoughtful blend of materials gives the building a polished yet durable look that fits right into the park setting.

But like many construction projects, this one came with its share of challenges. When the original steel subcontractor unexpectedly backed out, our self-perform crew from Kansas City jumped in without hesitation. They traveled to Colorado and worked long hours—often in snow and freezing temps—to keep the project on track. Our team also tackled engineering setbacks caused by incorrect load designs, coordinating closely with the City of Lakewood to find solutions and keep things moving.

Through it all, Crossland remained committed to delivering a high-quality project—on time and with care. To show appreciation for the local community’s patience during construction, our team even surprised nearby neighbors with thank-you gifts.
