Mid America Industrial Park OOWA Building 630
Precision and Perseverance Define OOWA Building 630
Pryor, OK
The Mid America Industrial Park OOWA Building 630 represented more than just another industrial construction project – it became a testament to our ability to adapt, overcome setbacks, and deliver exceptional results under challenging conditions.
This $14.8 million industrial facility was designed to serve as a cornerstone of the Mid America Industrial Park’s continued expansion. The construction featured concrete precast panels, a material choice that would prove both advantageous and challenging throughout the 12-month timeline. These panels provided excellent structural integrity and efficiency, but their installation required precision and expertise that would ultimately showcase our team’s adaptability.
Early in the project, our crew faced significant challenges that would have derailed many contractors. Difficult ground conditions, described by our team as “swamp-like,” required innovative approaches to site preparation and foundation work. Additionally, winter weather conditions compounded these challenges, creating delays and safety concerns that demanded constant vigilance and planning adjustments.
The project’s most critical moment came when a precast panel fell during installation, an incident that trapped construction equipment and threatened to set the entire schedule back by weeks. Rather than accepting defeat, our team demonstrated the flexibility and expertise that sets Crossland apart. We made the strategic decision to reassign our experienced steel crew, to handle the precast panel installation after the original subcontractor proved unable to maintain the necessary pace.
This crew transition proved to be a turning point. The steel team’s dedication and specialized skills not only recovered the lost time but ensured the remaining panel installation proceeded flawlessly. Their above-and-beyond efforts exemplified the collaborative spirit that drives successful project completion.
The team maintained focus on quality and safety while pushing to meet the December 2024 completion deadline. The moment when precast panel installation was complete and roof work began marked a significant milestone – not just in the construction timeline, but in the team’s confidence that they had overcome the project’s most challenging phase.
