Mesquite Field Services Center
The City’s First New Facility in 35 Years
Mesquite, TX
The City of Mesquite, Texas, has taken a significant step forward in enhancing its municipal services with the completion of the new Field Services Center – the city’s first new building in over three decades. This $12.3 million, 42,000 SF facility was designed to support the city’s Fleet Maintenance Department and Waste Management division, providing modern infrastructure to meet the growing needs of the community.
The project features a new administrative office building and a pre-engineered metal storage facility, both tailored to improve operational efficiency. Inside, the center offers a range of functional spaces, including a conference and training room, a dispatch suite, dedicated storage for the traffic division, a break room and tech bar, and specialized areas for field staff staging and personal storage.
The main building’s exterior combines classic brickwork with contemporary aluminum composite material (ACM) panels, while the storage building utilizes a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) system for durability and flexibility. Interior finishes blend traditional office aesthetics with modern color schemes, especially in the training areas, creating a welcoming and productive environment for city staff.
This project marked Crossland Construction’s first collaboration with the City of Mesquite. The construction manager, a former fire marshal, brought valuable expertise to the project, ensuring that the facility met the city’s high standards for safety and functionality. Delivering Mesquite’s first new municipal building in 35 years was a rewarding experience, reflecting a strong partnership and a shared commitment to the city’s future.
