Advanced Cancer Care Facility Upgrade in NW Arkansas

Highlands Oncology is a nationally recognized leader in cancer care, offering cutting-edge treatments, clinical research, and multidisciplinary care teams. In 2023, Crossland completed a $2.2 million interior infill project at Highlands’ medical office building in Northwest Arkansas. The 10,500 SF renovation added new exam rooms, training spaces, and reception areas to enhance patient care and staff support.

The space features high-end finishes, including carpet tile, porcelain wall tile, vinyl wall coverings, and laminated millwork with solid surface countertops. Acoustical ceilings were installed throughout, and a temporary wall system from Darragh was used to reduce disruption during construction.

While the project ran smoothly overall, delays in finish work and scope gaps related to intumescent paint introduced unexpected challenges. Crossland worked proactively to maintain the schedule and minimize budget impacts, absorbing certain costs to avoid unnecessary change orders.

The completed space reflects Highlands Oncology’s commitment to patient-focused care and provides a modern, functional environment for both patients and staff.
