Summer break means renovation season for schools across Colorado, but few projects match the complexity of coordinating upgrades across four separate Cherry Creek School District facilities simultaneously. Our team tackled this multi-site challenge, completing flooring replacements, mechanical upgrades, and plumbing improvements across 336,006 SF while students were away.

The project’s tight two-month timeline demanded military-like precision. We coordinated crews across different locations, ensuring each school received the attention it needed while maintaining strict deadlines. At one facility, we replaced all windows – an exterior upgrade that required careful sequencing to protect interior work from weather.

We took ownership of the budget and schedule from day one. The CMAR delivery method proved essential when managing four simultaneous work zones, each with unique requirements and existing conditions. Our collaborative approach with GH2 Architects ensured design intent translated seamlessly across all locations.

The real success story lies in the numbers. What began as a $2.2 million project came in nearly $500,000 under budget at approximately $1.75 million – without compromising quality or scope. This cost savings resulted from strategic planning, efficient resource allocation, and proactive problem-solving throughout the construction phase.

The most rewarding moment came when students returned to refreshed learning environments on schedule. While finishing touches continued into the school year, all critical work was complete, classrooms were ready, and normal operations resumed without interruption.
