If you’ve ever received a paycheck from Crossland, chances are—you have Stacy Maute to thank.
For the past 30 years, Stacy has been a steady force behind the scenes, making sure that every Crossland team member gets paid correctly and on time. She’s done that job with consistency, care, and a whole lot of heart. And in true Stacy fashion, she’s stayed humble about it all.
“I just try to make sure everyone is taken care of,” she says with a smile. “When people are expecting a paycheck, it matters. I take that seriously.”
From On-the-Job Training to Payroll Pro
Stacy joined Crossland back in 1994 through an on-the-job training partnership with Coffeyville Community College. She started out doing a little bit of everything—printing plans, answering phones, filing paperwork. When an opportunity to step into payroll opened up, Stacy rolled up her sleeves and took it on.

“There wasn’t a lot of formal training back then. I just figured it out, one week at a time.” That early initiative and teamwork laid the foundation for the well-oiled payroll system our team still relies on today.
Crossland Roots Run Deep
For Stacy, Crossland isn’t just a workplace—it’s family. Over the years, she’s built close friendships, grown through company changes, and supported thousands of employees behind the scenes. Her quiet dedication has never wavered.
“I love working here. Crossland has been good to me and my family. You couldn’t ask for a better place to work,” she said.
That sense of family runs in her blood. Stacy’s father, Larry Johnson, also spent many years working here at Crossland.
“My parents taught me the value of hard work and character. That stuck with me.”
Life Outside the Office
Outside of work, Stacy enjoys time with her husband, Lloyd, my kids, and grandkids. She’s a proud Nana to three grandsons, Carson, Theo, and Dexter, and one granddaughter, Rhyan. “I do a lot of running between baseball, softball, basketball, football, and soccer games,” she laughed.
Stacy and Lloyd moved to Grove a couple of years ago, and they love spending time on the lake with family and friends, as well as taking occasional camping getaways.
A Quiet Legacy
Stacy doesn’t seek the spotlight. But after 30 years of loyalty, consistency, and care, she’s earned it.
From the early days of handwritten checks to today’s digital systems, Stacy has been a rock for the people who make Crossland what it is. And that matters more than most people realize. Not just for the paycheck in your account every week, but for the quiet way she’s helped build this company for three decades.
So next time you see Stacy or drop her an email, take a moment to say thanks and congratulate her on her years of service.
Thank you, Stacy, for 30 years of service, heart, and hard work. We’re lucky to have you.
