Superintendent

Summary

This position is responsible for all activities at the construction site. Provides a safe working environment for all personnel, maintains an appropriate schedule, and ensures the project stays within budget. This position will work closely with the assistant project manager, field engineers, skilled craft employees, and the subcontractors.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Advises the owner, design team, and tradesmen with the project
• Prioritizes and coordinates work for all groups to ensure project remains under budget and on schedule
• Reviews terms and conditions of contracts
• Brings in new trades as the project requires them
• Collaborates with management of the trades to ensure work is being done in a manner consistent with the project plans
• Provides a safe work environment
• Works as a liaison to the owner, coordinating plans and construction activities to them
• Maintains inventory on project site
• Writes and updates the project’s daily record
• Weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors
• Responsible for project schedule
• Maintains quality control on the project
• Maintains project budget
• Manages company equipment and rental equipment
• Facilitates closeout of the project
