Climate controlled facility in a growing location

Colorado Springs, CO

As the storage industry continues to grow and expand, climate-controlled facilities are increasingly in demand. Crossland Construction was selected to build a three-story, climate-controlled facility for Woodmen Storage, LLC, in Colorado Springs.

This 125,000 SF facility featured 876 individual storage units that are fully climate controlled, and a 60’x 60′ interior loading bay with three overhead doors of various sizes.

The facility also contained an office and display areas to showcase storage units to potential customers. Unique materials included the light gauge load-bearing structural framing package and ‘Janus’ package for storage unit panels and coiling doors.

The project was completed in the mid-winter months, which resulted in 42 weather days for this project. However, our teams pushed on through the schedule to keep the project moving forward, with the framers in place and ready to go on the heels of the masonry work. The project was completed on time and under budget, with $42K returned to the owner at completion.

Woodmen Storage now has a well-performing asset in a thriving location.
