The agricultural equipment industry demands facilities that can handle everything from customer sales to heavy machinery service. When Vermeer Great Plains needed a new dealership facility in Kansas, they turned to Crossland to deliver a comprehensive 20,127 SF pre-engineered metal building that would serve as their complete sales and service headquarters.

This project required careful coordination between multiple building functions. Our team worked closely with Tessere, to create a facility that seamlessly integrates customer-facing sales areas, technical service bays, and administrative office space. The ten-month construction timeline demanded efficient scheduling to ensure Vermeer Great Plains could open their doors on schedule.

We took on key self-performed work that allowed us better schedule control and cost certainty. Our crews handled the cast-in-place concrete work, ensuring proper foundations for heavy equipment loads. We also managed the installation of doors, hardware, and wood blocking throughout the facility, maintaining quality control on these critical finish elements.

The project utilized a Construction Manager Agency delivery method, allowing us to work collaboratively with the design team from the early stages. This approach proved valuable when navigating the project’s unique contract structure, which initially included only the geotechnical survey work before expanding through change orders to encompass the full scope.

From sales floors designed to showcase large agricultural equipment to service areas equipped for heavy machinery maintenance, every square foot was planned with functionality in mind. The straightforward design approach focused on creating a practical, efficient workspace that serves both customers and technicians effectively.

This new facility positions Vermeer Great Plains to better serve the agricultural community with expanded space for equipment sales, parts inventory, and comprehensive service capabilities. The project represents the kind of practical, results-focused construction that helps businesses grow and serve their communities more effectively.
