Peoria Tribe RV Park: All-Concrete RV Facility in Miami, Oklahoma
Miami, OK
On Buffalo Run Boulevard in Miami, Oklahoma, the Peoria Tribe RV Park began as a straightforward design-bid-build project, but what emerged was a masterclass in collaboration, technology, and problem-solving.
The 16-acre development features 37 all-concrete RV pads, each with its own water and clean-out access, forming a modern, durable park built to serve the Peoria Tribe’s growing tourism and recreation initiatives.
Early into construction, significant elevation and grading errors were uncovered in the original plans. Crossland Construction utilized our in-house resources and brought in Crossland Heavy to create a 3D site model which identifyed drastic grade changes, including a 60° cross slope. Using AutoCAD modeling, total stations, GPS, and laser levels, the team adjusted the paving process to perfection. The result: a site built right the first time, with zero wasted concrete.
When the sewer system turned out to be pressure-based rather than gravity-fed, a $100,000 change order was issued to install a lift station. Even with the unexpected scope addition, the project finished on time and within budget.
The collaboration between Crossland Construction, Crossland Heavy, and the tribe was seamless. Crews worked early mornings to beat weather challenges, fine-tuning paving machines with GPS and hands-on precision. The outcome was a clean, uniform, and high-quality RV park. The Peoria Tribe’s satisfaction was immediate: they began planning Phase Two before the concrete had even cured. That’s the kind of success built on trust, technology, and teamwork.
