Chewy expands footprint in Houston
Houston, TX
Houston has gone to the dogs. And cats. And, well, a lot of different pets.
The new $40 million Chewy Fulfillment Center in Houston boasts nearly 700,000 SF of warehouse and 30,000 SF of office space.
Chewy is one of the nation’s largest online retailers of pet food and other pet-related products.
Exterior finishes include Tilt-Up warehouse walls adorned with texture paint, aluminum storefronts, and a TPO roof, ensuring durability and visual appeal.
Inside, efficiency meets functionality with painted tilt walls in the warehouse and standard office finishes, including ACT ceilings, carpeted floors, and painted drywall. Epoxy flooring in restrooms and janitorial areas, along with densified concrete floors in the warehouse.
The project faced a few challenges, including inclement weather and delays in electrical materials procurement. However, Crossland’s resilience and adaptability prevailed with the strategic sourcing of alternative vendors. The electrical delays ended up costing us time and money, but despite the setbacks, Crossland delivered on its promises.
As Chewy’s presence expands in Houston, so does the promise of economic growth and job opportunities for the local community, affirming the facility’s significance beyond its physical footprint.
