I-49 Industrial Building 4
Speed Meets Strength
Springdale, AR
When I-49 Industrial needed a massive warehouse built on an accelerated timeline in Springdale, Arkansas, they turned to us to make it happen. What started as a seven-month project became a five-month sprint that showcased our team’s ability to adapt, execute, and deliver exceptional results under pressure.
The project called for a 216,000 SF concrete warehouse – essentially a giant concrete box stretching 800 feet long, 250 feet wide, and rising 38 feet tall. While the design was straightforward, the execution required precision coordination and our signature self-perform approach to keep everything on track.
Our concrete crews stepped up in a big way. Our teams formed and poured over 200,000 SF of slab in just one month – a remarkable feat that kept the entire project moving forward. They placed over 5,000 yards of concrete for grade beams, footings, and slabs in five weeks, demonstrating the kind of productivity that comes from experienced crews who know their craft.
The real test came midway through construction when the steel installation timeline suddenly accelerated. The completion date moved up significantly, requiring us to rethink our entire approach. Instead of slowing down, we doubled down on what we do best – self-performing the critical trades. Our teams handled concrete, steel, earthwork, doors, and all the tilt-wall construction, giving us complete control over the schedule.
What made this project special wasn’t just the speed – it was the efficiency. The tilt-up construction method we used created solid concrete walls that match the existing industrial buildings in the area. While the exterior remained simple and functional, the real achievement was delivering a cost-effective solution at approximately $50 per square foot – well below market rates in today’s construction environment.
By project completion, we’d not only met the accelerated timeline but also came in nearly $1 million under the original budget. The final project cost of $10.065 million represented significant savings for the owner while delivering exactly what they needed: a functional, durable warehouse ready for immediate use.
