Har-Ber Ave. Ext. – 40th St. to Gutensohn Rd.
Springdale, AR
The City of Springdale sought to relieve traffic congestion with the Har-Ber Avenue Extension project which now allows drivers to safely cross under I-49 while avoiding busy intersections at Elm Springs Road and West Sunset Avenue. Crossland Heavy constructed approximately 1 mile of new 3-lane roadway with concrete trail & sidewalk lining each side, widened one intersection, installed street lighting, and installed over 2,400 feet of RCP & 100 feet of 6-barrel 12’x7′ concrete box culverts for flood protection. With the inflation of construction costs, the original design did not fit within the City of Springdale’s budget. CHC value engineered over $1.4M, making this project feasible for the City. We worked as a team to overcome issues with existing elevations and franchise utilities and ultimately completed the project under budget 32 days early.
