Crossland Construction delivered a 15,000 SF office expansion for the Choctaw Tribal Services Center in Hugo, Oklahoma, with a project value of $2.3 million. The new offices were constructed directly above active workspaces, requiring careful planning to avoid disrupting daily operations on the first floor.

The completed space includes multiple private offices, conference rooms, a break room, and restrooms. Interior finishes highlight the cultural identity of the Choctaw Nation, featuring custom tile, flooring, and window glazing with tribal-inspired patterns.

The project team overcame several challenges, including a tight construction schedule and limited workspace. Special attention was given to the installation of overhead plumbing, ensuring that services to the occupied first floor remained uninterrupted.

Additionally, the team adapted to an industry-wide refrigerant change that impacted the availability of Trane condensing units, requiring a shift in equipment plans. Extended lead times for wood doors also posed scheduling hurdles.

Throughout the project, Crossland worked proactively to manage costs, identifying opportunities to pick up or cancel small change orders to help the client save money.
