Empowering today’s youth takes more than just good intentions—it requires safe, functional, and inspiring spaces. The newly expanded Boys & Girls Club of Joplin now provides just that, offering more room, resources, and opportunities for local kids and teens.

Crossland Construction delivered a 13,000-square-foot expansion to the original 8,000-square-foot facility, nearly tripling its capacity. The $2.4 million project enhances available activities, increases enrollment, and improves safety features to better serve the Joplin community.

Modernized & Expanded for Growth
To create a seamless and functional facility, our team demolished and remodeled the existing structure, introducing new finishes, an improved layout, and upgraded door controls. A brand-new attached building further enhances the center’s capacity and accessibility.

Dedicated training and program rooms to support a variety of activities
Kitchen and dining area for daily meals and community events
Three storm-rated safe rooms providing added security
Locker area and large gathering steps for group activities and social engagement

Overcoming Challenges, Delivering Excellence
One of the project’s biggest challenges was connecting the new structure with the existing facility, as elevation differences required strategic modifications to the connecting space. Despite this, our team successfully delivered a cohesive space that meets the needs of both staff and students.

With durable metal building wall panels and a modernized interior featuring polished concrete floors, sheetrock walls, and tile ceilings, the facility is built to last—ensuring that Joplin’s youth have a safe, engaging space for years to come.
