Tina Burns came to Crossland Construction looking for a part-time role as a mail clerk and backup receptionist. A decade later, she found something far more meaningful, a second career, lifelong friendships, and a company she proudly calls family.
After 30 years in banking, stepping into a construction office was a new experience. “I remember my first day. I was so nervous to answer the phones. So many people and names to learn, and so many jobs,” she recalls. Thankfully, Kim Perry helped ease those early jitters, and Karen Engroff patiently guided her through the ins and outs of the mailroom. “I’m grateful to have had the privilege of working with them both.”

Over the years, Tina became a trusted, familiar presence, known for her kindness, her steady reliability, and her always-positive attitude. She worked with people across the company and says it best herself: “I’ve met and worked with so many great people here, it would be impossible to name them all.”
What stood out most to Tina was the culture. “Crossland is truly a family-based company that cares about their employees. Their dedication to their core values of trust, responsibility, integrity, and passion shines through every project they take on.”
Tina also shared a piece of heartfelt wisdom:
“We all need to remember not to judge others. You never know what people may be dealing with in their life. And we should always smile. It’s one of the simplest ways to pass on a positive, optimistic attitude.”

Tina, thank you for the warmth, grace, and joy you brought to Crossland. Your smile made an impact, and it won’t be forgotten. Enjoy retirement!
