Crossland is taking the next major step in its Texas growth strategy with the announcement of a new office in San Marcos. The location marks the company’s third office in the state and a key move to better serve one of the fastest-growing regions in the country.
San Marcos sits directly between Austin and San Antonio, a corridor that continues to surge with development. According to Texas President Rocky Hussman, the location made the decision clear.
“We reviewed several potential locations during our annual strategy planning,” Hussman said. “San Marcos stood out immediately. As Austin and San Antonio continue to grow toward each other, this corridor is becoming one of the strongest economic engines in Texas. Our clients, architects, engineers, and developers have already established a major presence there, and we want to help support that growth.”
Crossland is currently working through the lease process for their new office space and expects to be fully operational within six months.
Serving Existing Partners and Building New Ones
For Division Manager Mike Major, who will lead the San Marcos office, the expansion is about strengthening relationships with longtime clients while building new ones within the community.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to earn the trust of those in our new community,” Major said. “At the same time, this location allows us to better serve the clients who have invested in us for years.”
Crossland already has momentum in the region, with several upcoming projects underway. The new office will support a diverse range of work across industrial, retail, hospitality, education, public safety, and other public-sector markets.
“We’re committed to maintaining the diversity that has made Crossland successful,” Major added. “We’re builders at heart, and we want to contribute to every part of this community.”
Leadership Built for Growth
Hussman said Major is the right leader to guide the expansion.
“Mike has been instrumental in growing our North Texas market,” Hussman said. “He’s delivered some of our biggest projects, built strong relationships with developers and design partners, and brings a hands-on, winner’s approach to leadership.”
Major’s leadership philosophy centers on developing people.
“I want the people around me to achieve success and realize their potential,” he said. “I want them to feel pride in what they’re building, both in work and in life. That’s what gives me energy, and I’ll do everything in my power to help them get there.”
He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity.
“My wife, Blakely, and I are excited to get boots on the ground and start building our community in one of the most beautiful areas in Texas,” Major said.
What’s Ahead
Over the next 12 to 24 months, success for the San Marcos office will include establishing a strong project team, deepening relationships with long-term clients, and increasing our engagement with Texas State University, a key talent pipeline for Crossland.
“This expansion doesn’t change who we are as a Texas team,” Hussman said. “It simply broadens our reach and positions us to serve clients across the state with even more strength.”
With offices in Prosper, Fort Worth, and soon San Marcos, Crossland Construction is well-positioned to keep pace with Texas’ continued growth while delivering the quality work and relationships the company is known for.
