MIO – New Terminal Construction
A New Gateway to Miami, OK: Crossland Builds New Airport Terminal
Miami, OK
Crossland partnered with the City of Miami and the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA) to construct a new 4,500-square-foot terminal at Miami Regional Airport. This modern facility is built to better serve business, industry, and private aviation. The terminal is more than just a building, it’s a bold investment in connectivity, infrastructure, and long-term economic growth for the region.
Awarded through a hard bid process, the project was constructed in collaboration with design partner Garver and involved significant coordination with local, state, and tribal partners. Crossland self-performed concrete, steel, and rough carpentry scopes, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and streamlined progress throughout construction.
Built for Business, Community, and the Future
The terminal provides a welcoming space for pilots and passengers and lays the groundwork for increased flight activity, enhanced accessibility, and expanded business travel. Backed by strong community support, the terminal is expected to:
• Attract new industry and economic opportunities
• Boost Miami’s appeal to business aviation and regional travelers
• Serve as a critical connector for private and corporate pilots
• Strengthen Oklahoma’s presence in the aerospace and aviation sectors
Statewide Support, Local Impact
Oklahoma leaders stated that the terminal is a turning point for Miami and the broader region. “This new terminal marks a significant milestone in our state’s commitment to advancing air travel accessibility and fostering economic prosperity,” said Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell.
ODAA Executive Director Grayson Ardies echoed this sentiment, calling the project “a hub for regional air travel that will facilitate economic growth and enhance connectivity for both business and leisure travelers.” Miami Mayor Bless Parker added, “The terminal not only enhances our infrastructure but propels Miami forward, connecting our community with endless opportunities.”
