Sanitation upgrades in Norman
Norman, OK
The City of Norman recently completed a new Sanitation Administration Building as part of ongoing improvements to its public works infrastructure. The $2.8 million, 6,300 SF facility now serves as the primary headquarters for the Sanitation Division’s administrative team and provides a dedicated meeting space for the city’s solid waste collection crews.
Designed to create a more functional and uplifting work environment, the building replaces the division’s aging former facility. Key upgrades include new locker rooms for staff and an integrated storm shelter to enhance safety during severe weather.
The building features durable exterior materials, including CMU block construction and a metal roof, while interior finishes blend comfort and utility with a mix of carpet, epoxy flooring, and tiled walls.
At project closeout, the team celebrated the completion by presenting city staff with a custom dedication plaque – a small gesture to mark a meaningful upgrade for the people who help keep Norman clean and running.
