Launch Career Center Expansion at Heritage High School: Advancing Career & Technical Education in Rogers, AR
Rogers, AR
Heritage High School in Rogers, Arkansas, has expanded its Launch Career Center, providing students with greater access to advanced technology and career education. This $5.3 million, 13,700-square-foot project added a range of new learning environments and specialized equipment to support the district’s career and technical education programs.
The expansion introduced a diesel mechanic learning area and shop, a spacious wood shop with an integrated classroom, medical classrooms, and a medical training area equipped with beds and headwalls. The project also included new restrooms and a fully functional clinic space with multiple exam rooms for school staff.
A significant addition to the campus is a 21,000-square-foot synthetic turf area, made possible by effective contingency management. This outdoor space is surrounded by upgraded landscaping at the school’s main entrance, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.
The single-level structure features concrete masonry units (CMU) with steel joists and decking, a TPO roof, and a combination of brick masonry and custom metal panel façade. The exterior showcases a unique “fish scale” metal panel design, paired with brickwork that complements the existing school, and a storefront entry to the clinic. Interior finishes include epoxy-painted CMU or gypsum walls and wood doors, with a focus on durability and practicality for career education spaces.
During construction, Crossland replaced the floor polishers to ensure the finished product met quality standards. After completion, a tornado caused damage to the facility and other area schools. Crossland is actively working with the district to repair the affected buildings, demonstrating ongoing commitment to the Rogers school community.
