Expansion Enhances Wichita Operations and Employee Experience

In 2024, Airxcel, a leading provider of essential products for the recreational vehicle (RV) industry, completed a significant expansion of its Wichita, Kansas facility. This $3.5 million project, delivered by Crossland Construction, added over 12,800 SF of modern office space as part of Airxcel’s ongoing growth strategy in the region.

The expansion was designed to support Airxcel’s workforce with upgraded amenities and flexible workspaces. During construction, Crossland Construction collaborated closely with Airxcel to accommodate evolving needs, including the installation of two trash chutes, a dumbwaiter for efficient material movement, high ceilings for an open atmosphere, and custom wood casing around office door frames. The project also included resurfacing an existing parking lot to seamlessly match a newly constructed lot, improving site accessibility and aesthetics.

Exterior enhancements featured a combination of EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System), metal panels, and a modern storefront, creating a professional and welcoming façade. Inside, employees benefit from high-quality finishes such as carpeted floors, quartz countertops, and red oak wood trim, all contributing to a comfortable and productive work environment.

Despite numerous design changes and additions throughout the project, Crossland Construction maintained clear communication with Airxcel, ensuring that adjustments to scope, schedule, and budget were managed transparently. The project was completed on time, underscoring the value of teamwork and proactive project management.

This expansion not only supports Airxcel’s current operations but also positions the company for future growth in Wichita’s thriving manufacturing sector.
