Enhanced Project Write-Up: Basehor, Kansas, is experiencing rapid growth, and the new City Hall is designed to support the city’s expanding needs well into the future. This 9,200 SF, $4.5 million facility replaces the city’s previous municipal building, which served the community for over four decades. The new City Hall offers ample space for city operations, public meetings, and future expansion, reflecting Basehor’s commitment to progress and community engagement.

The building’s exterior features a blend of storefront glass, EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System), brick, and metal panels, creating a contemporary and welcoming appearance. Solar panels were integrated into the design, with careful coordination between Evergy and the solar subcontractor to ensure seamless installation and long-term energy efficiency.

Inside, the open office area is highlighted by wood-look metal soffit ceilings, which not only add visual warmth but also incorporate sound barriers for a quieter, more productive workspace. The council chambers feature a distinctive metal panel-clad dais wall, providing a modern backdrop for city meetings and public events.

Crossland Construction collaborated closely with the design team to resolve dimensional challenges during the project, delivering solutions that maintained both the project’s budget and schedule. Regular site tours for city leaders fostered transparency and built a strong partnership with the City of Basehor, resulting in a municipal facility that city officials and residents are proud to call their own.
