New green field water treatment plant with 2X capacity

Lawrence, KS

This project consisted of the construction of a new green field water treatment plant. The plant now has a 1 MGD capacity with the ability to expand capacity to 2 MGD within the footprint of the current facilities. Crossland Heavy installed a high-rate lime softening and membrane filtration treatment system, lime feed piping, and a pressurized C02 feed equipment system. This facility is unique in its ability to treat the necessary capacity within a relatively small footprint. The plant facility is mostly encapsulated within a 110’x110’ pre-engineered metal building. This project was 1 of 6 contracts that occurred simultaneously, allowing the water district to install a complete and functional treatment and conveyance system throughout their service region.
