Water treatment plant completed in four months

Oklahoma City, OK

The Hefner Water Treatment Plant Sludge Handling Facilities project in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was a complex, $35.59 million contract that included a 16,000 square foot Dewatering Facility, four pump stations, two Gravity Thickeners that are 95 feet in diameter, two Balancing Tanks that are 25 feet wide and 30 feet tall, 23,000 square yards of concrete site paving, and 100,000 cubic yards of imported soil. Sludge generated during the purification of water for human consumption is produced in large volumes and has high environmental pollution potential. To ensure the public’s health, the Oklahoma Water Utilities Trust organization hired Crossland Heavy Contractors to complete the Sludge Handling Facilities project at the Lake Hefner Water Treatment Plant. With just four months to complete the project, crews got busy, putting in overtime hour after overtime hour.
