Grove WTP Improvements Phase 3

The Grove Water Treatment Plant Improvements project included a major renovation to the existing facility, increasing the city’s treatment capacity from 4.4 million gallons per day (MGD) to 8.2 MGD. Upgrades were also completed to meet updated drinking water regulations. Major elements of the project included a new concrete sedimentation basin, a chemical building, three new filters and piping to expand the existing filter building, a new clay-bottomed sedimentation pond, modifications to the power activated carbon and chlorine building, a new generator system, new 250 horsepower vertical turbine pumps and upgrades to the natural lake water intake, new chemical and yard piping, and various upgrades to the site work at the existing plant.
Crossland Heavy self-performed 2,400 cubic yards of cast-in-place concrete, 6,500 linear feet of yard piping, and installation of all process equipment. Crossland crews self-performed 70% of the total contract value. Approximately 13 different subcontractors assisted in completing the project.
