Grand Prairie Fire Station 11
Foundations For Community Safety
Grand Prairie, TX
When the City of Grand Prairie needed a new fire station to serve the growing Davis Road corridor, they turned to Crossland to build a facility that would house both emergency equipment and the firefighters who protect the community around the clock.
The 10,822 SF Grand Prairie Fire Station No. 11 project combined practical emergency services infrastructure with comfortable living spaces for first responders. We delivered this $7.2 million facility, completing construction in 17 months while staying focused on maintaining your budget.
Our team self-performed the concrete work, giving us direct control over the foundation and structural elements that form the backbone of this essential public safety facility. The design balances durability with functionality – featuring metal panel and natural stone exterior finishes that will withstand Texas weather while presenting a professional appearance to the community.
Inside, the station includes everything firefighters need during extended shifts: individual living quarters, a commercial-grade kitchen, training spaces, and a full gymnasium. The facility also houses a community room where the fire department can engage with local residents and conduct public safety education programs.
Technical coordination proved crucial as we worked around the installation of a large Motorola communications tower on the property. Our team managed the timing and logistics to ensure both the building and tower installations proceeded smoothly without delays.
One of the most meaningful moments came when we participated in the Masonic cornerstone ceremony – a Grand Prairie tradition where the local Freemason lodge formally blesses new fire stations. This cultural element connected our construction work to the community’s deeper values and traditions.
