Keeping a Dealership Open, Clean, and Profitable During Construction
Renovating a busy car dealership isn’t just about construction, it’s about protecting the customer experience while major work happens all around it. At Fletcher Honda in Bentonville, Arkansas, Crossland Construction delivered a full exterior and interior transformation while the dealership remained fully operational.
Located on SE Moberly Lane, the 29,709-SF project involved removing and rebuilding the entire front of the existing dealership to align with Honda’s updated brand standards, remodeling the full interior, and completing several targeted building additions. The work was completed through a negotiated delivery method and wrapped up on time and within budget.
Building While Business Continues
From the start, the priority was clear: keep Fletcher Honda running without disruption. Customers needed safe access, sales teams needed clean and professional spaces, and the owner needed confidence that construction wouldn’t interfere with daily operations.
Crossland’s extensive self-perform scope, including demolition, earthwork, concrete, steel erection, rough carpentry, and finish carpentry, allowed the team to tightly control sequencing and site conditions. Crews carefully separated construction zones from public areas, maintained a clean and presentable facility, and coordinated work around peak business hours whenever possible.
A Full Transformation, Inside and Out
The project required tearing off the entire front façade of the building and reconstructing it with Honda’s updated brand look. Inside, the team completed a full interior remodel, refreshing customer-facing and operational spaces while maintaining dealership functionality. While the finishes themselves were straightforward, the execution required precision, planning, and constant communication to keep the dealership moving smoothly.
Measuring Success Beyond the Build
The true measure of success came directly from the owner: Fletcher Honda experienced record sales during construction. That outcome validated the team’s approach, thoughtful phasing, disciplined housekeeping, and respect for the business operating inside the space.
The Fletcher Honda Addition & Remodel demonstrates Crossland’s ability to deliver complex renovations in live commercial environments, where protecting operations is just as important as delivering quality construction.
