Raising the Standard for Care in Frisco
Frisco, TX
When Baylor, Scott, & White (BSW) needed a sophisticated healthcare facility in Frisco’s thriving PGA Boulevard corridor, they turned to Crossland to bring their vision to life. The BSW Medical Office Building represents a significant addition to the area’s growing medical infrastructure, combining cutting-edge design with practical functionality.
This six-story medical office building spans 408,366 SF and features cast-in-place structural concrete construction with three elevators servicing the entire facility. The project began as a core and shell development, providing maximum flexibility for future tenant improvements while ensuring the structural integrity needed for medical operations.
The architectural design incorporates a diverse palette of exterior materials, including natural stone, brick, curtain wall systems, and ACM panels. A striking GFRC feature wall creates a distinctive presence along the building’s front facade. The interior showcases a two-story atrium lobby with custom chandeliers, establishing an impressive first impression for patients and visitors.
Adjacent to the main building, we constructed a five-story, 650-space parking garage using post-tensioned concrete construction. This structure ensures adequate parking for the busy medical facility while maximizing the available footprint.
One of the project’s most complex elements involved connecting the new medical office building to an existing hospital through a skybridge. This required extensive coordination with the existing facility’s general contractor to ensure seamless integration without disrupting ongoing hospital operations.
Our self-performed concrete crews handled all site concrete work, including intricate saw cutting, sandblasted finishes, and colored concrete applications. These specialized techniques added both aesthetic appeal and functional durability to high-traffic areas throughout the facility.
From groundbreaking through the topping-out ceremony, our team maintained constant communication with all stakeholders, including the owner’s partner based in New York City. This elevated level of reporting and documentation ensured transparency throughout the construction process.
The BSW Medical Office Building now serves as a cornerstone of Frisco’s medical district, providing state-of-the-art facilities for healthcare providers and convenient access for patients throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
