The Riverlyn Wastewater Pump Station project scope includes construction of a new lift station. A valve vault and control building replaced the adjacent, existing lift station. Four 125 HP pumps were successfully installed as part of the cast-in-place lift station. At its maximum, the structure was -33 feet below-grade, which presented significant challenges in light of the already small jobsite. Tie-ins were made to numerous existing city sewer lines, including one that crossed a major thoroughfare. Because the pump station is adjacent to an upscale, residential neighborhood, special consideration was given to the above-grade aesthetic of the retaining walls, fencing, and control building exterior.
