Owasso 116th Widening Mingo to Garnett
Owasso, OK
Over the past five years, the City of Owasso has contributed millions of dollars into their major 116th Street Widening initiative. The final phase of the project was from Mingo Valley Expressway to Garnett Road, a 1.25-mile stretch of busy roadway which connects many businesses to Highway 169 and to the residences of the community members of Owasso. The street widening work took the road from two lanes to four lanes with a central turn lane and included new curb and gutter, sidewalks, waterline, sewer line, storm drainage, driveways, and traffic lights. In total, crews constructed 6.25 lane-miles of roadway, 41,000 square yards of concrete paving, 18,000 linear feet of curb and gutter, 7000 square yards of sidewalk, 7300 linear feet of storm drainage and 97 storm structures, 8300 linear feet of waterline, 3600 linear feet of sewer line, and 2400 square yards of driveways. The scope of this project is largely in Crossland Heavy’s wheelhouse, so we were able to self-perform 65% of the work, including concrete paving, curb & gutter, sidewalks & ramps, storm drainage, earthwork/excavations, and demolition. We partner with the City of Owasso on many projects, and we were proud to complete their final phase of 116th Street Widening on time, under budget, and with zero accidents.
