Orizon

Industrial

Olathe, Kansas

Brief Summary

The Orizon project in Olathe was a $8.1 million, Design-Build contract for a structure spanning 205,000 square feet. A manufacturer of aerospace parts, the project included very specific elements that were a first in terms of installation. A new, precast concrete building includes 16,000 square feet of two-story office space; the remaining space is used for manufacturing and support rooms. The large equipment, direct from Germany, was placed on foundations resting on drilled piers, socketed into rock. The manufacturing space is climate-controlled, with LED lighting and polished, concrete floors. Despite the very aggressive schedule and several Owner scope additions, the project was completed on time and on budget.
