Monett Water Treatment Plant

Water Treatment Plants

Monett, Missouri

Brief Summary

In September 2013, Crossland Heavy Contractors began work on the Monett Water Treatment Plant.  The project included a precast concrete filter building housing an Actiflo Package Clarification Unit, a four-cell sand filtration system, chlorination facilities, fluoridation facilities, and various laboratory, office, and conference spaces.  Treated water is stored in a 1 million gallon capacity, 100 foot diameter, below-ground clear well that is cast-in-place concrete.  A prefabricated, high service and backwash pump station was placed between the filter building and the clear well to pump treated water through the city’s water system and to backwash the sand filtration system.  A lagoon was constructed to store backwash water, along with various flow control structures and yard piping.  The project was completed in March 2015.

Crossland Heavy was always thinking of the next step of the project, what challenges it poised, and how to overcome these challenges in a manner that best suited not only their interests, but also the interests of the owner.  They put forth the extra effort to construct the water treatment plant in a manner that the owner, engineer, and they themselves could all be proud of.
