This project involved the construction of a new headworks facility in Broken Arrow, OK, and the demolition of the existing headworks including the raw sewage pump station and screening facility. Crossland Heavy built the new facility, including fine screens and screen handling equipment, raw sewage influent pumping, grit removal, grit handling equipment, and new biofilter for odor control which was a big problem for the area’s local residents. We also undertook the electric and instrumentation work, yard piping, and grade work.
We delivered this project right on schedule, combating the challenges we faced with the biofilter media and new waterline by creating alternative plans within our schedule, and we were able to work on these changes concurrently with the original project schedule. We had to make some adjustments to the crew and supervisors, and we worked everything in and delivered on time. This was greatly facilitated through good communication.
