Crossland Heavy has had the privilege of working on the renovation and expansion of Lake Ft. Smith’s water treatment facility as well as remodeling the existing plant that will increase the plant capacity from 30 MGD to 40 MGD. The project includes a 40 MGD clarification structure, 20 MGD filter building, and 40 MGD carbon contact basin. The project was divided into 3 phases due to its complexity. The project also included the demolition of existing structures that had been in place since 1936 when the original plant was constructed. Numerous improvements were made to the existing systems/facilities and piping. This completed project will satisfy the water supply needs of area residents for many years to come.
