Crossland Construction offered Pre-Construction and Construction Management services to Labette Community College during the construction of their new 5.2 million dollar Health Science Building. The facility offers students one of the most up-to-date and technologically integrated programs of any two-year program in the state of Kansas. The two-story Health Sciences building offers students an attractive and sustainable facility, outfitted with cutting-edge equipment. Classroom space makes up the first floor with eight large classrooms and laboratories, and simulated hospital care rooms for student observation and use. Upstairs, office and conference spaces are available for instructors and administrators.
Composed of structural steel, the building’s erection was self-performed by Crossland’s skilled steel crew. The concrete and carpentry work on the project site was also completed by Crossland employees. An estimated 35% of all project work was self-performed. The result is an amazing finished product that met not only LEED standards, but the Owner’s budget and schedule.
