The Fountain Plaza and Hershey projects in Bentonville, Arkansas had a Negotiated contract value of $9.1 million. The scope included construction of a new, two story Class-A office building measuring 46,300 square feet. All of the second floor and half of the first, approximately 35,000 square feet, is occupied by Hershey. With a fast-track schedule, the foundation and steel plans were started while the rest of the building was designed. Hershey’s tenant work is certified LEED v4 for Commercial Interiors, Silver, and included the installation of two large, solar arrays on the roof, car charging stations, energy efficient building systems, and eco-friendly materials throughout. Additional features include extensive audio/visual equipment with Planar Screens and fixed and electronic sound control devices.
The building’s exterior includes curtain wall glazing, black onyx brick, architectural metal panels and aluminum composite panels. Additional exterior features include cantilevered tube steel at the entries that support a glass and stainless steel canopy system. Interior elements include ECOVET recycled wood interior features from old tractor-trailer beds, sliding glass office doors, and exposed structural designs.
Completed on time and on budget, this project is the first LEED v4 for Commercial Interiors building in the state of Arkansas.
