Crossland partnered with Frank Fletcher once again to repair the Nissan Dealership in Joplin, Missouri following the May 2011 tornado. Before the disaster, the dealership was spread out across a large parking lot and composed of multiple small buildings. This design was not in line with Nissan’s aesthetic standards. The tornado damage provided an opportunity to return a prosperous business to the Joplin community and improve the dealership’s look. Built with structural steel, the new facility features a large, airy showroom with consultation spaces, a customer lounge area, and a kids’ playroom.
The project’s groundwork presented challenges, revealing bad dirt and onsite sink holes. These issues were corrected, but took considerable efforts to fix. Frank Fletcher Nissan was occupied and operational after the mid-point of construction. Despite these additional challenges, the project was delivered on time.
