Brief Summary

The Blue Dome District is a trendy festival and entertainment locale in Tulsa, OK. The district gets its namesake from the historical Blue Dome building, built in 1924. Now an icon for this downtown Tulsa neighborhood, The Blue Dome area has evolved into a lively nightlife location and is the place to go before and after shows. However, it lacked adequate pedestrian lighting, so the City of Tulsa hired Crossland Heavy for a complete illumination overhaul.Crews replaced the old acorn-style street lamps with 150 custom, blue-hooded lights to match and enhance the trademark identity of the nine-block district. They also patched a few blemished sidewalks, increasing the overall walkability of the area. The Blue Dome District is in a busy downtown sector, so crews coordinated with shop owners to ensure their business could flow smoothly. They kept work areas orderly and safe throughout the project and completed sections block by block for the least disruption. The result created a safer and more inviting nighttime area for pedestrians, adding to the district's personality. City leaders were extremely pleased and commented that it added synergy and character to the neighborhood.
