Crossland Welcomes a New Class of Field Engineers
3 June, 2017
Columbus, KS - The month of May is always filled with new faces in the halls of Crossland’s headquarters in Columbus, Kansas. During this time, we hold a Bootcamp for the current class of Field Engineers eager to begin their career. This year, we welcomed 44 recent college graduates to the Crossland family.
The Field Engineer Bootcamp is a weeklong introduction to the company, consisting of orientation and training. We also use this time to immerse them into our company values and culture. They get the opportunity to meet company leadership and peer, as well as attend a Superintendent meeting. They also get personal time with our company CEO, who hosts dinner at his house during the week.
Bootcamp is a great kick off to Crossland’s Emerging Leader Development Program, which follows each Field Engineer for two to three years, and puts them on a career path which guides them through their professional development. Individuals are on their own journey, and their paths may differ depending on their professional career goals. However, everyone’s primary goal is to gain as much field knowledge as possible so they may build for success.
Crossland’s motto, Real Builders, holds true, and we believe that setting these emerging leaders on the right path - building that solid foundation in the field - will help guide these individuals throughout their career. Crossland believes this hands-on knowledge is fundamental and invaluable to growing a great company’s leaders and managers.
“Each May when a new class of Field Engineers is brought to our home office, it is an exciting time for all of us. It is a privilege to teach them about who Crossland is and the different career paths we can offer them within the company. We are looking forward to watching the men and women in this year’s class learn and work toward their individual goals, and are excited to welcome them to the Crossland family.” –Ivan Crossland, Jr., CEO
