The City of Quapaw, OK, hired Crossland to remodel and modernize their beloved community center. The goal was to expand the kitchen and living quarters to better accommodate funerals and other tribal events. The Quapaw community looked forward to their PowWow festival held at the facility each July, so our team was up against a tight and non-adjustable timeframe to complete the remodel.

Given this project was HUD-funded, we had a locked budget upfront and worked with the owner to make the most of those funds. It was a design-build process, so when the owner came to us with an idea, we worked closely with the design team to create what they needed with constructability in mind. Our crews self-performed the concrete work, steel erection, and rough and finish carpentry.

The result was a huge success! The added kitchen space made it possible for the community to serve a lot more people more efficiently at both big gatherings and community events. Our team delivered the project on time and within budget.
