The Fort Osage Woodland Early Childhood Center addition consisted of a 20,000 square foot facility. Included were eight classrooms, a library, a multipurpose room, five therapy rooms, two padded sensory rooms, and an administrative/break room area that includes space for the principal’s office, a nurse room, and a reception area. An enclosed breezeway connects this space to the existing school and playground. In addition to the sensory rooms for special needs children, there are swing rooms between the classrooms. A FEMA shelter space was also part of the project scope. The Early Childhood Center was completed two weeks ahead of schedule and in budget.
