Crossland Heavy Contractors Ranks in ENR's Top 200 Environmental Firms

Columbus, Kansas – Crossland Heavy Contractors finds themselves, once again, thrust onto the national stage as Engineering News Record announces their list of the Top 200 Environmental Firms.  Based on each firm’s total environmental revenue for 2014, Crossland Heavy weighs in at 96th this year.

In 1993, Crossland Construction Company expanded its horizons and created Crossland Heavy Contractors as their response to an expanding civil construction market.  Today, they have offices in Columbus, Kansas, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rogers, Arkansas, and Kansas City, Missouri.  With an original focus on infrastructure, Heavy has branched out into the water and energy arenas, having completed numerous projects across the central United States.  Today, their primary focus is water and wastewater treatment plants.  With over 250 employees in this division of Crossland Construction Company, they are looking to the future with great anticipation.  Mark Sell, President of Crossland Heavy Contractors, said “Over the years, the United States Environmental Protection Agency has been increasing its water treatment and sanitation standards, requiring many communities and corporations to update their facilities.  Our communities need capable contractors to carry out these highly technical renovations, additions, and new constructions, and our team is here to help.  We are honored to be named #96 on ENR’s 2015 prestigious list.”

The whole Crossland Heavy team not only created excellent working relationships with the city employees, they have worked very well with the engineering company who planned and designed the plant for the city.  As with any project of this magnitude, some challenges were encountered, some expected and some not, but each was met with determination and a well-executed solution that helped maintain the project schedule and control project costs.
